Melanie will be sharing her recent field work experience in Ifaty, Madagascar. The Cincinnati Zoo sent her to offer aid in response to the largest tortoise confiscation/rescue in history! 10,000 critically endangered Radiated Tortoises (Astrochelys radiata) were found in a 3 bedroom house in Madagascar and were overwhelmingly given to the care of The Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA). Melanie will be sharing her stories, pictures, and her new found love of the rich Madagascar culture that made it worth all the hard work.
